We live in a world grappling with many needs, but the greatest need of all is for salvation. Every person ever born carries the weight of sin, a rebellion against God’s holy and perfect standard (Romans 3:23). This sin creates a chasm between us and our Creator, leading to spiritual death and eternal separation from Him (Romans 6:23).
But God, in His infinite love and mercy, provided a way for us to be saved. He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to live a sinless life, die a sacrificial death on the cross for our sins, and rise again, conquering death itself (John 3:16; 1 Peter 3:18). Through His shed blood, Jesus paid the penalty we deserved.
To be saved means to be rescued from the penalty and power of sin and to be brought into a right relationship with God. It is a gift freely offered to all who will repent of their sins and place their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior (Ephesians 2:8-9; Acts 3:19). When we do this, we are born again by the Holy Spirit, receiving new life and the promise of eternal life with God (John 3:3; 2 Corinthians 5:17).
If you recognize your need for a Savior today, I urge you to turn to Jesus. Confess your sins to Him, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and invite Him to be the Lord of your life (Romans 10:9-10). There is no greater need, and no greater hope, than the salvation found in Christ alone.
